Jakarta Hitching Race 2011
“What I love most about this crazy life is the adventure of it” – Juliette Binoche
One in a million time, I would never imagine myself to be as I am today. Guess that million time is over. And now I am the way I am today.
It was on one of those blue sky Summer days. Where I had decided to get some crazy activities to do. It’s not hard for me to get ideas since this world had a lot of it. This time I logged into facebook and said I will attend this race organized by Couchsurfing Indonesia.
I actually am a newbie in this couch surfing experience. But I am always open to have new friends as well as new experiences. So when one of my friends introduced me to this organization I did not hesitate whatsoever to join it. And I am so grateful I did that. Read the rest of this entry »
BAaaLlliiiii….!!!
BALI!!
This beautiful exotic tropical island is called the island of the gods and goddesses. It is simply believed as an island where god and goddess live as its beautiful nature is stunning and breathtaking.
Bali lies at the south coast of a giant archipelago of Indonesia, a South East Asian country. It is located in a range of other topical islands exactly between Java and Lombok, both are also famous with its own beauty signature.
As an island, Bali is surrounded by white sand beaches. Coral reefs and cliffs are among its natural heritage, of course, beside its dazzling culture.
I, myself live in Java island, in the west region of Java island to be exact. I work in the capital city, Jakarta, which is two hours distance from my place. Jakarta is the most populous city in this country. Despite of some distinction of a metropole city, Jakarta is still a city worth to visit anytime you come to this country. It will take approximately one day by car or one hour by plane to get to Bali from Jakarta. Some domestic and international flight fly to this famous island. Read the rest of this entry »
The teaching will keep you.
I am here listening my itunes playing a pulpit talk that takes my mind travels into time.
Couple of months ago, I cannot recall exactly when, I sat on my regular seat that was on the section, third row from the front on my churchwhen I heard this line for the first time, the teaching will keep you. I remembered that I did not understand what my favorite speaker meant at that time.Well, not until last week.
Last week was my lamest week that I can remember. I was at my lowest point in life. I even reached the very bottom of my consciousness that I burst out not only in tears but also in wrath. To top of it, I did that twice. Sometime at that condition, I crossed over a pile of CDs which I realized now were pulpit talks CDs, of my favourite speaker. Unknowingly, I just played off some of them. And to my realize I felt encouraged and helped. It was as if he spoke for me for the first time. It was as if I heard him for the first time. It was so fresh for my soul that I became stronger and stronger in faith to Him. And the next thing I know, I felt better. I felt so much better.

Blue Me.
…
Maybe the best color for me IS blue.
Just like my feeling nowadays.
umm… maybe.
Let me take you to a journey of blue.
That’s how I look in blue.
My Secret Identity
I am back in Jakarta last week. This is my first encounter with my laptop. If you are writing in life, you will miss writing your life. So, even though my writing materials are not ready, I just cannot hold these fingers from dancing on the keyboard.
I was about to leave my Indo apt (I named it by myself. It is actually an extension of a townhouse where they made several rooms to be rented and provide minimum facilities. Almost like a dorm, but they still have regular house for the owner nearby and it is located in an estate.) When one of the kids there asked her friend about me. She asked, “Who is that woman?” and the opponent answered, “She is Lenti. She is Christian.” (Lenti is my nickname) I overheard their small talk, and I wasn’t sure whether I should be worry or happy.
That was my first time to be identify with 2 sentences like that. The first sentence is just regular. But I never heard myself being identified as Christian. Nu-Uh, not in this country. I tried to think things that I’ve done to that girl or words I’ve said to her that made her stated that second statement. No luck on that. But interestingly, I came up with more identity of me. And here is the list. If you know me, please add more. Or, you can just try to make your own list. It will be fun! 😉
A daughter
A teacher
A Christian
A friend
A blogger
A newbie traveller
A student
An auntie
A church member
A ….
The longer the list the more you understand yourself. If there’s someone in this world that you need to understand, that person is definitely our selves. Enjoy getting to know yourself more!
