Easy Step

with 2 comments

It was at my several early visits to Fitness First when I dared myself to try this class. I had full confidence since the name of the class was Easy Step. Well, it should be easy, right? Hehehe… wrong. It was far from being easy. But I guessed that’s what made us, me and my friends, kept going. The challenges were addictive!

I wrote this as a remorse of my evil self. You will find out more if you continue reading. Well, I have been joining this class since October 2009. So, it was almost 3 years ago. I knew most of the regulars. I knew all the basic steps. And with that I can follow the step-up movement any class instructor would give.

Even so, I was always left behind in every class. And whenever we had new people joining this class, I felt very happy. Because I knew that that person will be overwhelmed with in followin the class. So, I would not feel like I am the worst in class. Hahaha…

There were actually 3 symptoms that I had observed with this newbie. First, they would not even stand for the first 15 minutes in the class. They could be so angry that they took their steps and put them on the stack. Or, they could be so ashamed and left the class without even putting back their steps on the stack. Either way, their attitudes never failed to make me smile.

Second, they would try harder. This kinda of newbie would last for 30 to 45 minutes in class. In between, they would stop and stare at us, trying to figure out how the combos could be done. I had the feeling that they would also wait for some mercies from the instructor.

The last type, was the hype one. They would become hyper and very happy in joining this class. They might not be able to follow all he combo movement, but they would definitely come back again, and again and be one of us, regulars. They were the survivors. They were the real easy steppers.

As much as I love having new people as regulars. I would prefer to have more type 1 and type 2. Hahaha… simply because, I can laugh at them  when they are frustrated. How evil I could be. 😉
