4. Vivo City
It was a happy day. I finally visited The Jurong Bird Park. It was a place I would recommend to everyone who is visiting Singapore. And I decided to end the day with a stroll at Vivo City.
3. Jurong Bird Park
Still about my trip in Singapore…
Today, I visited The Jurong Bird Park. I had always wanted to visit this placesince secondary school. One of my friends went there and I had this longing ever since. This very day, I had the time to make it happen. Directly after breakfast, I headed for Lavender MRT Station. It was only 200m away from my hotel. I counted it as my morning exercise. hehehehe….
The weather was nice and so did the people. It was a good day to meet some birds 😉
2. Tresor Tavern Hotel
“There is some what an achievement when you get a nice budget hotel on your own effort.”-me
I arrived at this hotel late night and it was raining. I was so glad the front desk was swift and helpful. It took less than 15 minutes to get my room ready. After getting lost and rained, I was really happy for this. I also asked for international plug for my chargers. I forgot to bring it! Can you believe me?! And gladfully, he gave me one.
1. Singapore
Singapore was so different in night view. I arrived around 9 PM singapore time. changi was still crowded. Arrival immigration terminal was packed with people with sleepy eyes. I looked at the residents and citizens line and then stared at “all passports” line and I could not help but envy. Life is so damn easy for them, especially when I remember that their passports are accepted in most part of the world without visa.
sigh.
I need a new soulmate
“He has made everything beautiful… in its time….”
-King Solomon on Ecclesiastes 3:11-
1202 face-book friends, a hundred twitter follower, countless phone-book friend and I am friend-less. Indeed true what the old people were saying, true friends are not the one who comes to your life, but the one who stays in your life. And as life continue, I realize that I have no friends.
Alright, I am a bit exaggerating there. Well, yeah… I have friend to go to Nano and have body massage there. Sure, finding a friend to watch the latest movie in the theater is easy. And I don’t need to worry being alone in the gym or at the church. But, alas! I need a friend who really share some of my “genes”. Someone who is willing to go days to visit beautiful beaches in Bali and Lombok. Someone who is crazy enough to hitch-hike in Jakarta, not that I don’t have one, or two. I need a soulmate.
Do you recognize me?
“Just like seasons, people change.”
Once I was asked. Describe yourself in one single word. Confidently, I answered: Loyal. Now, I am not sure that I am what I was. I was, once, very loyal to my friends. I sacrificed most of my comfort just to be with friends. I don’t think I am that kind of person anymore. I guess, it is true what they say, people change. I don’t know when, but I know now that I am a different person. I am a completely a different person when I make up my mind that sometimes strangers are better than friends.
I am a wallet eater
Am an omnivore, of course, …but I am also a wallet eater. I change wallet almost every 3 months. Maybe the total amount spent on wallet is more than what’s inside the wallet.
My black Esprit wallet. Now in a very terrible condition. All sides were peeled. I don’t know why. FYI, I bought it at esprit boutique at Mall Taman Anggrek, so it was original esprit wallet.
Surabaya
What to see in Surabaya?
That was a question that I had been asking to my fellow Indonesian who knew Surabaya better than me. Unfortunately, I did not get diverse answers. Most of them said, plainly, malls. Sigh.
I love shopping, don’t get me wrong. But to go to place where one can only find shopping malls is nightmare, well to me it is. I had choice but to expect nothing from this so-called third biggest city in Indonesia. And I was shocked knowing that The Amazing Race 21 visited Surabaya!!! Wow. However, even in a blink of an eye, I managed to visit some interesting places that you might want to see when you visit Surabaya.
We stayed at Twin Hotel (you can read my review on Trip Advisor). But I saw Majapahit Hotel that was quite vintage for you who looked for this stuffs.
A Reason To Celebrate.
“Life has meaning only in the struggle.
Triumph or defeat is in the hands of the Gods.
So let us celebrate the struggle!”
Swami Sivananda
Today we celebrate an end of a journey. A faith journey through two books that are blessings to us. Me, Ribka and Wati are accountability friends to each other for the past… umm… 8 to 9 years. We commit ourselves to meet regularly and study the Word of Gods together. We set times together to listen to each other, pray to one another and have fun together. And today, we have just finished two inspiring Bible Study books; Learning to walk by faith and learning to make better choices.
