Universidad De Deusto
Last week, I had the opportunity to visit Spain for the first time. Thanks to Erasmus program! 🙂 So, because I am enrolled in a european masters program, I should continue my program in another european university for my 3rd semester which will be in Spain, Basque Country, the city of Bilbao to be exact.
We travelled with Brussels airlines and made a transit in Brussels airport for 1.5h. When we arrived in Bilbao airport, whoa! It was sunny. I could not remember the last time I saw sun that bright. And we were given a free ticket to visit Guggenheim Museum. What a welcome!
We met our seniors, batch 8 students here. And they were all wonderful people. Have I said that I am so lucky to be enrolled in this program? We just dropped our luggages in our luxurious hotel (for students, more on this post) and headed directly to the university or in spanish Universidad de Deusto.
It is actually a jesuit university. I knew this from a short campus tour. We went to the campus caretaker memorial which was so nice. They really give proper respect to people who contribute so much to the university. It is also interesting to see a campus with so many religious symbols and to know that in some extent those symbols might be meaningless and be as much as decorations. But I took my own meaning by taking a photo right under Mother Mary statue.
On days, we were busy with college stuffs, registration, seminar, panels, making connections, etc. And on nights, we were enjoying the warm nights spanish way. It was a really really nice trip and I looked forward to be there for semester 3. But for now, let’;s enjoy the melancholic Copenhagen, shall we? 😉
