The Whole is Greater than the Sum of its Parts

2020 is only 40 days old and here I am again recollecting all the new year spirit that had crushed to pieces in order to make life on course again. Not easy, I must say, especially when Copenhagen’s wind blowing in its full speed this week. I might have lost some pieces in the famous Copenhagen’s Four Lakes on my way biking home.

Constantly revise your conclusions.

It was my iphone-me-time when I encountered masterclass commercial on youtube. This time, it was not Gordon Ramsay. She was actually a rather old and peculiar woman, offering online class on being a writer. And she took my attention greatly. She said, if I thought I was a writer, maybe I am. Interesting.

One video leads to another, I ended up listening to Malcolm Gladwell’s top ten rules for success. He is, of course, my favourite writer, need to be noted. While, I ended up on number 4, I managed to turn on my laptop and start writing this blogpost.

Malcolm Gladwell’s top ten rules for success. They include:

  1. Have the courage to pursue your idea.
  2. Try a new approach.
  3. Believe in meaningful work.
  4. Constantly revise your conclusions.
  5. Distinguish yourself from others.
  6. Practice.
  7. Explore.
  8. Be patient.
  9. Understand the rules of business.
  10. Outwork others.

The Price of Feminism

feminism-2

Nope. I am not going to talk about feminism on what the picture represent. Even though I share my soul agreeing with it. This one is about a story of one of my Copenhagen days. 🙂

Yesterday, after a weird job interview at Valby, I went to my danish course in Kødbyen. I blamed on the weird interview that I somehow played my bike’s gear all the way from Enghave to Fisketorvet bound to Kødbyen. Well you see, the road there is quite climbing, 1 degree probably, so I need to see how this “new” bike adapting with its two hands gears. That was when I could not feel that I was pedalling my bike. *shit* I knew this feeling, the chains must have lose. And of course, it was.
I stirred my lose-chained bike to the parking lot. Yes, I could get hold on using bike without proper working chains. Yes, I am that good. And saw what I knew was happening. But what I did not expect was that apparently this new bike has its chain cover. Does not life look so much easier now?

I put my turquoise longchamp bag on the left hand grip and put my Yves Rocher shopping bag on the right. I rolled my long sleeves wool cardigan 3cm and squatted looking like a smarty pants girl knowing stuffs on how to fix a loose chain. I don’t know shit.

Don’t trust your dream

…like I never do, except for last night.

It was an unusual sunny day in Copenhagen, last Saturday. I went to second hand shop “loppemarked” in Frederiksberg in the morning and felt drained and exhausted. Stuffing my new owned clothes and cosmetics, I cyckled to my part time job together with my friend. And we decided to have BBQ at Island Brygge after finishing my work. It was such an enjoyable day, but we ended the day almost dried of over heating. Then… I got the dream.
