Bless the Lord, O my soul; and all that is within me, bless His holy name!

Dear Laura Valentina Sitorus,

Happy birthday from Our Daily Bread Ministries! We join you today in your celebration. May the Lord make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.

One great way to celebrate our birthday is to reflect on the generous blessings of the Lord over the years. As such, we have especially selected an Our Daily Bread reading which we hope will encourage you to live a life that overflows with thanksgiving.

I thank God for Christmas. Yes, I know, it’s not Christmas for most people around the world but it is for the danish. I went to the kitchen to see my landlady’s family and she asked how are you in this Christmas morning? …hihihi… I giggled in my thought, it’s not Christmas yet. But oh well, isn’t the Christmas spirit should be with us everyday? So, merry Christmas! 😉

Tis the season to be jolly! Falalala…lalala…

A good night sleep, because don’t you know he enjoys giving rest to those he loves?

Longevity noodle for lunch, for long life is in her right hand; in her left hand are riches and honor.

A cup of sweet orange flavored tea, so that my words are like honeycombs, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.

Thank you Lord for today. It is just another day to mark how many years you have been with me. And through these years you have shown me that you are faithful and true. Teach me to number my days, that I may gain a heart of wisdom. Amen.

As early as 9 days. Thank you.

Dear LAURA VALENTINA,

As you celebrate your birthday this month, may God’s grace and peace be unto you always. It is our prayer that you will continue to grow in wisdom and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

We have selected a reading from Our Daily Bread which we pray will encourage you to draw near to God and saturate yourself with His Word everyday even as He adds days and years to your life.

Happy Birthday to my wonderful friend ever!

Though, I am in a far far faaarrr away land, nothing would stop me from celebrating your day! 🙂

I pray that your beautiful family will be an examplary of modern, simple, happy, godly family. I have never met someone who could pull out friendship and family at the same time. You set the bar so high that all others are falling behind. Keep being the “normal” one amongst us. And pray that this friendship would last than memory could ever do. Happy birthday. Or in danish, tillykke med fødselsdagen.  Love you! ❤

Cakery: RC versus TLJ

These past couple of weeks, I had the chance to share some of God’s blessings by buying birthday cake, one of them for my very good friend 🙂

For her birthday, I refused to buy  just an ordinary cake. So, even though I knew she would not like any cake I bought, I still insisted to buy her a branded 4-star-hotel-quality cake. I bought her Strawberry Tart of The Ritz Carlton Hotel Jakarta with full hope that she might like it.

It tasted good. The crust was sweet and crunchy. The cream was soft and light. And the strawberries were fresh and delicious. It was not like any other tart that would make you feel full just by looking the cream. This was fresh and simply yummy. Or so I thought. She apparently she did not like it at all. She smiled and gratefully received it. She had a bite and gave the strawberries away and threw the rest of the cake in the trash in. Had I been sensitive, I would be very upset. But I knew it already, the chances were small for her to approve or even like the cake I bought.
