Papa Ramen

Papa Ramen is the second option of ramen place that I would recommend after Ramen to Bííru.

I actually chose the place as a farewell dinner for our friend Campbell. I thought the best place to send someone to a new journey is a place where we could experience a lot of flavor.

It’s a vietnamese restaurant in the heart of Copenhagen which I really love, located in Dronningens Tværgade 12, 1302 København K (ph. 60888698).

I first went there with my vietnamese and chinese friends who were craving for some asian food. And since, our vietnamese friend really liked this the food at this restaurant, so we went there to try.

Hong Tang

Working at Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK) for the past (almost) four years, I feel the urge to mind what people say about foodism at PIK. One of the names I often hear is Hong Tang.

imageAccording to some people, Hong Tang is a dessert shop from Taiwan. Other brands will be Black Ball, Honeymoon Dessert, Honey Bean and some more names that I cannot understand. And among them, Hong Tang is said to be the best.

So me and my friend went there last Tuesday. It took only 10min drive from our school to this shop. It was quiet but people kept coming in when we left around 12 am. I asked the waiter to point out their specialty. So, the best sellers are Grass Jelly 29, (something) 41 and Hong Tang 80.

We ordered Grass Jelly 29, just with different ice cream flavour. So here is mine with Matcha (green tea) ice cream. It was great. I love it. But maybe next time, I’ll try not to be health-freak and order different ice cream flavour.

Cut The Crab, will ya’ ?

Today,  was somewhat an extraordinary day. It’s a rare occasion for me and my friends went out for early dinner. Well, one of them is my diner-buddy but the other one is a busy mother with 2 kids. So, I was delighted to have her with us.

imageWe went to a new seafood restaurant, Cut The Crab, one of the restaurants that stretches at Pantai Indah Kapuk Area, exactly next to the famous Ramen restaurant, Hakata Ikkousha Ramen. You wouldn’t miss it.

It was 3.15 pm. So the place was empty. There’s a small aquarium next to the door in which you were to decide the size of your crab if you were ordering crab dish. Today, they only had M size crab. Well, perfect for the three of us to share.

imageAfter  choosing our crab, we picked our seats and studied their menu. Basically they only had 3 main courses and 6 side dishes. One of the main courses was the Crab Combo, their specialty. We chose fried potatoes, boiled sweet potato and rice to accompany our crab. There were some side dishes too and choices of extra veggies for the crab, but prefer not.

The waiter, after taking our orders, covered our table with oil paper and gave our bottomless ice teas. It’s true what they said, no plates, they would just put the crab on the table point blank. Then he came with paper apron which was cute. 🙂

Food Cult: The Asia Restaurant

Last month we celebrated Teachers’ Day at one of the most prestige hotel in Jakarta, The Ritz Carlton Jakarta.

image

It was Friday and the commute from our school to the venue was awful. Trust me, when a Jakartan like me said awful, it’s really really damn awful. But we did not want to be ungrateful. So we tried  our best to enjoy what were served and not to compare to our usual, teachers’ day dinner at Hotel Mulia.

Mak Beng

mak beng 2I was on a weekend trip to Bali last month. It was a hassle preparing a trip to Bali in such a short period of time-not that it was not my fault though. hehehe.. 😀

Thankfully, I had a friend who lived there that I could BBM to ask one or two on-the-go tips, including places to visit. One of the places she mentioned was Mak Beng.

Mak Beng is a small diner nearby Sanur Beach, Bali. It is located at Jalan Hang Tuah No. 45, Sanur, but most drivers in Bali would not know addresses, apparently. The easiest way to go there is by finding drivers who know Mak Beng. Or tell the driver that it is located on Sanur Beach, 20 m from Inna Beach Hotel. Then, they would not miss it! 🙂
